Our Principal Liz has been working busily behind-the-scenes to organise a brand-new Prosthetics module for Iver students. From this January, experts from Gorton Studio have taken over the teaching of the module which was specially designed by its director and award-winning special effects artist, Neill Gorton.

Neill and the experts from Gorton Studio are at the forefront of the industry, with in-depth knowledge of the latest techniques and materials. We can’t wait for students to learn from world-renown specialists!

Their combined experience has seen Gorton Studio teachers work on Hollywood blockbusters and cult TV-shows.

Last month, teachers from Gorton Studio came to the academy to show off their skills. Students got stuck-in creating amazing looks using prosthetics and special effects make-up.

Our amazing models were transformed into monsters and more. And students got to try out a range of techniques including life casting, mould making and application.

There was a strong-focus on looking at up-to-date industry techniques for prosthetics and special effects make-up.

Here are just a couple of the creations:

Liz Tagg, Principal at The Iver Make-up Academy said:

“We’ve been working on this collaboration for a while, and I’m really excited that Neill and the team from Gorton Studio will be taking over the delivery of our Further Prosthetics module.

Our students will really benefit from the knowledge and experience that Gorton Studio will bring. Being taught first-hand by a pioneer of the industry will be invaluable.”
